The Merrimack County Department of Corrections serves the community and its criminal justice system by providing security, supervision, and assistance to persons remanded to our custody. Our Correctional Officers are focused on providing a safe and secure environment while managing the daily care, custody, and control of the inmates under correctional supervision.

About Merrimack County Department of Corrections

The Merrimack County Department of Corrections operates a direct supervision correctional facility located on Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen, New Hampshire. Our inmate population housed inside the facility includes male and female inmates who are awaiting arraignment, pre-trial and/or sentenced, administrative transfers from other correctional facilities, and federal inmates.

Our inmate population also expands into the community. Those individuals who have been sentenced by the court and have met all departmental requirements may also have the opportunity to be granted the electronic monitoring program and/or be assigned to the County's Successful Offender Adjustment and Re-entry (SOAR) program.
