About Merrimack County SHERiFF'S OFFICE

The county sits on a 965 Square mile area with a population of approximately 152,000. Currently, the country holds the 5th position of 10 counties per capita in the sheriff department.

The sheriff's office is the primary law enforcement agency in Merrimack, New Hampshire, headed by David Croft. He is currently serving his second term in office. They control and manage court orders, subpoenas, tax delinquents, possessions, and general peacekeeping. The office was mandated to patrol areas, traffic, and roads not under local police department jurisdiction.

Since Dave Croft won the County's Sheriff's Office seat, Merrimack County has experienced changes in its governance and eviction procedures. Dave Croft has resolved the issue of evictions by carefully analyzing individuals' situations before evictions. Furthermore, the sheriff's office carefully examines the mental, financial stability and residential history to look for ways of helping displaced individuals.

To lower the level of criminal activities in Merrimack County, the sheriff's office collaborates with the police department to conduct criminal investigations. It ensures that county residents are safe from burglary and drug traffickers.
